KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and accounting documents.
• Recording daily financial transactions, receipts, payments, invoices, and expenses.
• Preparing payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.
• Monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Following up on outstanding customer payments and preparing receivables reports.
• Preparing bank reconciliations and monitoring company bank transactions.
• Assisting in cash-flow monitoring and financial planning.
• Preparing monthly financial reports and management reports.
• Ensuring proper filing and maintenance of financial records.
• Verifying supporting documents before processing payments and expenses.
• Monitoring company expenses and ensuring expenditure is properly authorised.
• Assisting with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Supporting payroll preparation and verification where required.
• Ensuring timely preparation and submission of statutory financial requirements.
• Working closely with operations, procurement, HR, and management on financial matters.
• Assisting with internal and external audits.
• Ensuring compliance with company financial policies, accounting procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintaining confidentiality of company financial information.
• Performing any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance), or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA(T), ACCA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related position.
• Experience in a logistics, clearing and forwarding, transport, shipping, or trading company will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Good understanding of Tanzania tax and statutory compliance requirements, including TRA-related financial obligations.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
• Tanzanian citizenship is preferred.
