Job Purpose

Alfa Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Dar es Salaam, is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join its Engineering Department.

The role is responsible for maintaining electrical systems, production equipment and utility systems to ensure reliable operations, safety and minimal production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Operate and maintain equipment within the utility area, including boilers and related systems.
• Carry out Gas SS (Stainless Steel) welding and fabrication work.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical and equipment failures.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify the causes of equipment failures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with:
  • Safety requirements
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Company standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a:
  • Manufacturing environment, or
  • Industrial setup.

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have:

• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of industrial safety procedures.
• Knowledge of utility operations.
• Experience or understanding of boiler systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of welding/fabrication, particularly Gas SS welding, is relevant to the role.

• Be able to work independently as well as as part of a team.
