About place
Jackfruit Cafe is a garden café, coffee shop and all-day restaurant in Shanty Town, Moshi, operated by Laryan Company Limited. We serve a wide menu, pizza, pasta, burgers, sushi, salads, cakes and specialty coffee to Moshi residents, the local expatriate community and visitors to the Kilimanjaro region, and we are one of the highest-rated restaurants in town.
About the role
We are looking for a reliable, safety-minded Driver who is comfortable on both a motorcycle and a minivan. The work is varied — supplier collections, customer transfers, deliveries, and getting our team home safely at the end of the night. You are often the first and last person a customer sees, so presentation and courtesy matter as much as driving skill.
Key responsibilities
- Transport employees to and from work, including after closing shifts
- Collect stock and products from suppliers
- Deliver customer orders on time and in good condition
- Provide transfers for customers to and from the cafe and other agreed points
- Move stock, equipment, and documents between our properties
- Run general errands as directed by management
- Keep both vehicles clean, fueled, serviced, and roadworthy
- Maintain trip, mileage, fuel, and delivery records
- Handle delivery paperwork and any cash payments accurately
- Report faults, delays, or incidents to management promptly
- Assist with loading, unloading, and other reasonable duties when not driving
Working hours
- 45 hours per week, generally 6 days per week with one rest day
- Rotating shifts with reasonable flexibility
Essential requirements
- Valid Tanzanian driving license covering classes A1, A2, B, C1 and C2
- Confident and experienced on both a motorcycle and a minivan.
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record and a valid police clearance certificate
- Working English — able to communicate with customers and understand instructions
- Smart and presentable at all times
- Good knowledge of Moshi and the surrounding region
- Own smartphone, comfortable with WhatsApp and Google Maps
- Punctual, honest, and trustworthy with cash, goods, and company vehicles
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry stock
- Aged 21 or over
Preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality — hotel, lodge, restaurant, or tour company
- Basic vehicle mechanical knowledge

Conduct and safety
The successful candidate is expected to maintain high standards of road safety and professional conduct at all times: no alcohol or drugs before or during a shift, helmets and seatbelts worn without exception, no phone use while driving, full compliance with traffic laws, and no personal use of company vehicles.
