NEW VACANCIES: FARM OF DREAMS LODGE – KARATU, ARUSHA

Farm of Dreams Lodge, located in Karatu, is looking for qualified, motivated, and experienced individuals to join our hospitality team for the following positions:


1. ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR (1 Position)

Reporting To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the housekeeping team in the Housekeeping Supervisor’s absence.

  • Assist in supervising daily housekeeping operations.

  • Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and staff areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards.

  • Support in training, guiding, and monitoring housekeeping staff.

  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas.

  • Report maintenance issues and ensure timely follow-up.

  • Help manage housekeeping supplies and inventory.

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and lodge policies.

  • Assist in preparing staff schedules and duty assignments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping in a hotel, lodge, or similar hospitality environment.

  • Previous supervisory experience is an added advantage.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.

  • Fluent in English and Swahili.


2. COOKS (3 Positions)

Reporting To: Head Chef

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals for lodge guests (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and taste meet lodge standards.

  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Manage food stock and storage, and minimize wastage.

  • Plan menus and assist in food purchasing when required.

  • Work closely with lodge management to meet guest dietary needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a chef or cook in a lodge, hotel, or restaurant.

  • At least 3 years’ experience cooking in a well-established restaurant or hotel.

  • Relevant culinary training or certification is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of local and international cuisine is an advantage.

  • Ability to maintain high hygiene and food safety standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Any other assigned duties.


3. ASSISTANT RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR (1 Position)

Reporting To: Restaurant Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the restaurant team in the Restaurant Supervisor’s absence.

  • Assist the Restaurant Supervisor in managing daily restaurant operations.

  • Supervise restaurant staff and ensure high standards of service are maintained.

  • Welcome and assist guests to ensure a pleasant dining experience.

  • Coordinate service between kitchen and restaurant staff.

  • Monitor cleanliness, table setup, and overall restaurant presentation.

  • Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.

  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, lodge, or similar hospitality environment.

  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is an advantage.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good command of English and Swahili.


4. ASSISTANT RECEPTION SUPERVISOR (1 Position)

Reporting To: Reception Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the reception team in the Reception Supervisor’s absence.

  • Assist in supervising the daily operations of the reception/front office.

  • Welcome guests and ensure smooth check-in and check-out procedures.

  • Support reception staff and ensure excellent customer service at all times.

  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional manner.

  • Assist in coordinating reservations, room allocations, and guest information.

  • Support training and guidance of reception staff.

  • Ensure the reception area is organized, presentable, and operating efficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in reception/front office operations in a hotel, lodge, or hospitality establishment.

  • Previous supervisory experience is an added advantage.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Good computer skills and familiarity with hotel reservation systems is preferred.

  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
