Our Client
Our client is a diversified and fast-growing conglomerate headquartered in Mwanza, Tanzania with operations spanning Real Estate, Manufacturing, Construction, and Hospitality. Professionally managed and committed to excellence, the organization plays a key role in driving economic growth through its investments across multiple sectors.
Its portfolio includes the production and distribution of packaging materials, aluminum products, construction supplies, non-woven bags, concrete poles, agricultural equipment, as well as the importation and distribution of vehicles, furniture, and industrial machinery.
To support this continued growth, the organization is seeking a high-caliber Accountant to join the team in Mwanza.
Overview of the Position
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and laws, including timely filing of tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the different business units.
- Review and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor and control cash flow and manage company funds.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with accounting standards.
- Assist in audits and ensure the company is in compliance with all financial regulations.
- Provide financial analysis to assist in strategic decision-making across the different business areas.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions as needed.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience in accounting.
- Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, etc.) are highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
