Position Details

Position Title: Accountant
Number of Positions: 1
Reporting To: Director – Tax & Business Support
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam


Position Summary

Coretax Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Accountant to join its growing team. The role extends beyond in-house accounting responsibilities and includes providing professional accounting services to clients at their premises.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, effective client-facing skills, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information to support compliance and decision-making.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements in compliance with local regulations
  • Conduct tax computations, filings, and advisory services in line with Tanzanian tax laws
  • Provide on-site accounting support and advisory services to clients across different industries
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing
  • Assist in preparing management reports, budgets, and forecasts for Coretax Africa and client companies
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other stakeholders as required
  • Support clients in implementing financial best practices, internal controls, and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA (T) or ACCA qualification is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, Tanzanian tax laws, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ proven accounting experience
