Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance team. This role is designed for a proactive professional looking to apply their academic knowledge in a fast-paced corporate environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our financial compliance and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and process statutory tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, SDL, Withholding Tax, and Provisional Tax returns (essential).
- Revenue Management: Assist in monitoring and managing company revenue streams to ensure financial accuracy.
- Payroll Administration: Manage the preparation, maintenance, and accounting of the payroll system and all related parameters.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of Trial Balances, Provisional Reports, Management Reports, and other documentation as required.
- Administrative Support: Execute additional accounting and internal audit duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of practical experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws.
- Competencies: High level of integrity, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
