Project Overview
The AU–EU Youth Voices Lab project operates across diverse regions in Africa and Europe, engaging youth stakeholders in meaningful dialogue and participation.
A key focus of the project includes North African countries, where Arabic is the primary language of communication. These countries include:
- Egypt
- Sudan
- Morocco
- Algeria
- Tunisia
- And other Arabic-speaking regions
To ensure inclusive participation, the project requires professional translation support that enables clear and accurate communication across all stakeholders.
Purpose of the Role
Engaging an Arabic-speaking translation consultant is essential to ensure:
- Inclusive participation of all stakeholders
- Effective and equitable communication
- Full engagement of youth participants, grantees, and partners
The role ensures that language is never a barrier to participation, learning, or decision-making.

Role Objective
The consultant will provide professional translation services between English and Arabic, ensuring:
- Accurate interpretation of meaning and context
- Culturally sensitive and inclusive communication
- High-quality translation for documents, discussions, and project materials
Key Responsibilities
- Translate written materials from English to Arabic and Arabic to English
- Support communication between project stakeholders across regions
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness in all translations
- Maintain consistency in terminology across project documents
- Assist in enabling smooth multilingual engagement during project activities
Desired Profile
- Proven experience in professional translation (Arabic ⇄ English)
- Strong attention to detail and linguistic accuracy
- Familiarity with youth-focused or development projects (an advantage)
- Ability to work with diverse cultural and regional contexts
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Commitment to inclusivity and equitable participation
