## Role Purpose
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of travel retail operations. This dynamic role involves organizing Sales Associates, overseeing shift performance, and ensuring that sales targets and operational standards are consistently met.
## Key Outputs

Retail Standards: Maintain shops to the company’s defined premium standards.

Team Leadership: Oversee and motivate Sales Associates to drive performance.

Sales Performance: Lead the team to achieve specific sales targets and objectives.

Inventory Management: Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained at all times.
## Key Responsibilities
1. Point of Sale & Operations

Shop Presentation: Lead product arrangement (merchandising), ensure accurate price labeling, and maintain a pristine shop environment.

Commercial Actions: Implement promotions, campaigns, and supplier activations (marketing, tastings, and materials).

Cash Management: Ensure cash tills have sufficient change and oversee session closing procedures.

Customer Care: Provide high-quality service and handle escalated customer queries.

Shift Management: Conduct briefings, allocate staff to floor/tills, and report faulty work tools to the Operations Manager.

Security: Monitor and report suspicious behavior from customers, staff, or airport personnel.
2. Human Resources

Scheduling: Review shift schedules, flag coverage issues, and manage short-notice absenteeism.

Traffic Management: Monitor passenger flow and relocate staff between shops accordingly.

Performance Tracking: Manage breaks, monitor attendance/punctuality in real-time, and take immediate action on lateness or early departures.

Training: Assist in training new and existing staff members.

Reporting: Deliver daily briefings/debriefings and report individual behavior or performance issues.
3. Stock Control

Logistics: Control physical and system transfers between the warehouse and various shops.

Inventory: Oversee stock levels and take full accountability for inventories.
## Candidate Profile

| Experience | At least 5 years of proven experience in retail or team management. |
| Education | Minimum of a Diploma. |
| Leadership | Strong authority; ability to impose structure, discipline, and execution. |
| Management | Experience managing large frontline teams; ability to push for sales. |
| Personal Traits | Assertive, resilient, results-driven, and comfortable with pressure/confrontation. |
| Operational Skills | High attention to detail, multitasking, and a strong follow-up mindset. |
