Position Overview

The Construction Technician is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and preparing sites for Jaza Hubs or Shops. This includes site assessment, leasing, renovation, and installation of all necessary infrastructure.

This role is critical in transforming approved sites into fully operational Jaza locations while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting expansion targets.


Key Accountabilities

  • Visit and assess assigned sites for potential service locations
  • Execute all steps in the site acquisition process (assessment, leasing, renovation, installation)
  • Maintain a rework rate of ≤5% across acquisition activities
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout all processes
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and landlords

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Assessment & Leasing

  • Conduct site visits and complete assessment reports
  • Negotiate lease agreements within approved budgets
  • Prepare, issue, and manage lease documentation
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

2. Renovation & Installation

  • Identify required renovations for each site
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards
  • Oversee asset requests, shipment, and installation of shop infrastructure
  • Confirm sites meet structural and safety requirements before commissioning

3. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards
  • Identify and flag risks affecting quality and propose solutions
  • Maintain accurate quality assurance documentation
  • Ensure all acquisition steps are followed to minimize rework

4. Reporting & Communication

  • Provide regular progress updates to the Construction Engineer
  • Present site acquisition updates during team meetings
  • Track and report key metrics:
    • Sites assessed and leased
    • Sites acquired
    • Rework rate
    • Monthly rental costs
  • Escalate issues impacting timelines or quality
  • Support continuous improvement of acquisition processes

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in:
    • Construction Management
    • Civil Engineering
    • Or a related field

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in:
    • Property management
    • Construction or facilities management
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent negotiation skills (leases and vendor contracts)
  • Knowledge of construction standards and quality control
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills
  • Analytical ability for site evaluation and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including to remote areas
