JOB VACANCY: CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

Position Overview

The Construction Technician is responsible for assessing potential sites, identifying suitable service locations for setting up a Jaza Hub or Shop, managing the leasing process, and overseeing renovation and installation activities to ensure sites are fully operational.

This role is critical in converting validated sites into high-quality, operational Jaza locations while meeting acquisition targets and maintaining strict quality standards.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure all assigned sites are visited and assessed for suitability as Jaza Hubs or Shops.
  • Complete all steps in the site acquisition process, including assessment, leasing, renovation, and installation.
  • Maintain a rework rate of ≤ 5% by strictly following acquisition procedures.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently applied throughout acquisition, renovation, and installation.
  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with vendors, contractors, and landlords.

Responsibilities

Site Assessment and Leasing

  • Conduct site visits and complete assessment documentation for approval.
  • Negotiate lease agreements within approved budgets.
  • Issue leases and ensure all documentation is properly completed and filed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords and key stakeholders.

Renovation and Installation

  • Identify and communicate required renovations for each site.
  • Identify and coordinate vendors or contractors as needed.
  • Ensure quality control protocols are followed throughout renovation and installation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies for asset requests, shipment, and installation.
  • Confirm all sites meet structural and safety standards before commissioning.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all company quality standards for site acquisition are met.
  • Identify and flag risks that may affect quality, proposing mitigation measures.
  • Ensure all quality assurance documentation is completed and submitted.
  • Maintain acquisition rework rates at or below 5%.

Reporting and Communication

  • Provide regular progress updates to the Construction Engineer.
  • Present acquisition data and insights during expansion team meetings.
  • Track and report key metrics including:
    • Sites leased
    • Sites acquired
    • Rework rates
    • Monthly site rental costs
  • Escalate critical issues affecting timelines or quality.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of acquisition criteria and processes.
