Job Purpose

The Core Network Specialist supports the achievement of the Bank’s strategic goals by designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing the organization’s core network infrastructure.

The role involves managing Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and security platforms, providing advanced technical support, coordinating with service providers, managing assigned projects, and supporting technology adoption across the Exim Bank Group.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

• Manage, configure, and support Cisco SD-WAN infrastructure, including policies, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Operate and maintain Cisco MPLS WAN connectivity and routing services.
• Configure, manage, and support Cisco wireless networks using LAN and Wireless Controllers.
• Administer DHCP servers and manage enterprise IP address allocation.

Network Security

• Administer and troubleshoot FortiGate and Sophos firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and UTM features.
• Manage Array Networks GSLB and Array Anti-DDoS solutions to ensure application availability and network protection.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor network performance and availability using SolarWinds, proactively responding to alerts and incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis for network issues and implement preventive and corrective measures.
• Provide technical support for network incidents and service degradation.

Change, Documentation & Coordination

• Support network changes, upgrades, and migrations in line with approved change management processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with internal teams, service providers, and vendors to resolve issues and optimize performance.
• Perform any other duties assigned in support of departmental objectives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (SD-WAN, MPLS, Wireless).
• Practical expertise in firewall administration and network security solutions.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based change and incident management processes.
• Ability to manage vendors and work collaboratively across technical teams.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
