Role Overview: Credit Risk Management

Focus Sectors: Agriculture & Diversified Industrials.

Core Mission: Conduct high-quality credit assessments to structure “bankable” solutions while acting as the “second line of defense” for the bank’s portfolio.

Key Objective: Ensure zero credit losses through proactive monitoring and rigorous risk evaluation.
Key Accountabilities
1. Credit Analysis & Solution Structuring
-
End-to-End Application: Manage the full cycle of credit applications, amendments, and reviews.

Strategic Structuring: Collaborate with Relationship Managers (RM) and Legal teams to create credit products that meet client needs while staying within the bank’s risk appetite.

Market Insight: Apply knowledge of market fundamentals and economic drivers to assess the viability of financing strategies.

Sanctioning: Act as the liaison for credits exceeding local risk limits, moving them up to the appropriate lending authorities.
2. Risk Focus & Portfolio Control

Early Warning Systems: Continuously monitor client performance and the operating environment to detect “early signs” of distress.

Technical Accuracy: Manage data integrity for Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), including:

DG (Default Grades)
-
LGD (Loss Given Defaults)
-

Post-Sanction Monitoring: Oversee security perfection (collateral), facility condition fulfillment, and excess management.

High-Risk Management: Identify and escalate potential “High-Risk” clients and manage credit write-offs.

3. Stakeholder & People Management
-
Collaboration: Attend customer meetings with Relationship Managers to resolve complex credit issues.

Technical Support: Provide guidance and coaching to junior Credit Analysts to improve the quality of submissions and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Candidate Profile: Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
-
Degree: Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Commerce.

System Knowledge: Experience with CCRS (Credit Central Reporting System) or similar credit monitoring software is highly preferred.
Professional Experience
-
Duration: Minimum of 5 years in Credit or Investment Analysis.
-
Sector Expertise: Previous exposure to Primary or Secondary Agriculture is a significant advantage (understanding industry drivers like seasonality, crop cycles, and export markets).
