Job Summary
Computer Centre Tanzania is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
The successful candidate will ensure that data from multiple systems is efficiently collected, transformed, and made available for analysis in a reliable and secure manner.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
- Design and implement data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Integrate data from multiple systems such as:
- ERP systems
- CRM platforms
- Operational databases
Data Architecture & Storage
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes.
- Develop scalable data models and storage structures to support analytics and reporting.
Data Quality & Performance
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Implement data transformation and data cleansing processes.
Analytics & Business Intelligence Support
- Work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) Analysts to support dashboard development.
- Enable data availability for advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain proper documentation of data architecture, workflows, and data flows.
- Support best practices in data governance and data management.
Technologies
The role requires experience with:
- ETL Tools:
SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, Informatica - Programming & Query Languages:
SQL, Python - Data Platforms:
Data Warehousing platforms - Cloud Platforms:
Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud - Big Data Technologies (optional)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Data Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Information Systems
- Or a related discipline
Required Skills
- Strong SQL programming skills
- Data pipeline development
- Data modelling and data warehousing
- Programming languages such as:
- Python
- Scala
- Java
- Experience with ETL and data integration tools
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as:
- Azure Data Factory
- Snowflake
- Google BigQuery
- Knowledge of real-time data processing frameworks
- Understanding of data governance frameworks
