JOB OPPORTUNITY: DATA MANAGER

Introduction

Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania (ASUTA) works in partnership with FHI 360 on the Epidemic Control (EpiC) project. EpiC is a global initiative funded by PEPFAR and USAID dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. ASUTA is currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Data Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Systems & Database Management

  • Develop, manage, and maintain project databases and data management systems.

  • Support digital tools for data collection (e.g., DHIS2, ODK, KoboToolbox, CommCare).

  • Manage data backups and ensure strict security and confidentiality.

2. Data Quality & Verification

  • Ensure timely and accurate entry, cleaning, and verification of project data.

  • Conduct routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) at facility, community, and project levels.

  • Develop and enforce data quality protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

3. Analysis & Reporting

  • Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual program performance reports.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and lessons learned for program improvement.

  • Provide data visualization and dashboards for management and stakeholders.

  • Support preparation of donor reports (USAID/PEPFAR) ensuring accurate data submission.

4. Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Supervise Data Officers to ensure timely data entry and reporting.

  • Train and mentor project staff, community volunteers, and partners on M&E tools and data systems.

  • Liaise with partners, donors, and government stakeholders (e.g., DATIM reporting at district/national level).


Job Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in data management, preferably within CSOs/NGOs focusing on health (HIV/AIDS, SRH) or community development.

  • Technical Skills: * Proficiency in DHIS2, MS Access, Excel, and SQL.

    • Expertise in data collection platforms (ODK, Kobo, CommCare).

    • Strong skills in analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, or advanced Excel.

    • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a significant advantage.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of donor reporting requirements (USAID, PEPFAR, Global Fund).

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
