Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Distribution Driver role is to transport bulk stock between Coca-Cola Kwanza Manufacturing Plants and Distribution Centres, ensuring deliveries are completed on time and in full, while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and customer service.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Distribution & Delivery
- Transport bulk stock (Primary Distribution) between Manufacturing Plants, Distribution Centres, Local Distribution Partners, and OCCDs.
- Deliver stock (Secondary Distribution) to Direct Delivery customers and OCCDs.
- Settle delivery loads after every delivery.
Customer Service & Administration
- Provide professional and efficient service to both internal and external customers.
- Collect and handle customer cash payments.
- Ensure all collected cash is accurately banked and settled without shortages.
- Compile, verify, and manage delivery invoices and documentation.
- Coordinate and receive customer invoices.
Stock, Asset & Vehicle Management
- Take full accountability for the allocated truck, mobile device, stock, and pallets.
- Perform daily stock counts accurately and promptly.
- Ensure proper handling and care of truck and stock assets.
- Maintain vehicles in safe and operational condition in line with company and legal standards.
Safety, Compliance & Supervision
- Comply with company safety standards and security procedures.
- Adhere strictly to national traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure zero fatalities and safe driving practices at all times.
- Supervise and manage the crew assigned to the truck.
Operational Excellence
- Comply with distribution processes, route planning, and optimisation systems.
- Demonstrate understanding of distribution KPIs affecting internal and external customers.
- Operate distribution technology including mobile devices, cab cameras, and satellite tracking systems.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications
- VETA Driving Certificate.
- Form IV Secondary Education.
- Valid and applicable driver’s licence (minimum of 3 years).
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Previous distribution driving experience with a haulier.
- Willingness to work fixed shifts at specific times and days.
- Sound understanding of logistics and distribution processes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to maintain vehicle safety and operability.
- Knowledge of equipment handling and truck/stock asset care.
- Familiarity with route planning and distribution optimisation systems.
- Technology literate, with the ability to operate mobile devices and in-vehicle monitoring systems.
