The company’s service portfolio extends to operating first-class bars and restaurants that serve both African and international cuisines, as well as providing specialized support for remote campsites. Headquartered at the PSSSF Commercial Complex in Dar es Salaam, the group is led by a team with over a decade of experience in hospitality and commercial catering. Position: EHS Coordinator (Environment, Health & Safety)

Job Purpose:
The EHS Coordinator will ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace across catering operations, kitchens, restaurants, and hospitality facilities. The role focuses on food safety, hygiene standards, occupational safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and hospitality safety standards
- Implement and monitor EHS policies and procedures across kitchens, dining areas, and storage facilities
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards in line with HACCP principles
- Food Safety Management
- Monitor food handling, preparation, storage, and serving practices
- Conduct regular food safety inspections and audits
- Ensure temperature control, cleanliness, and prevention of cross-contamination
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Identify workplace hazards (e.g., slips, burns, cuts, equipment risks)
- Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures
- Ensure safe use of kitchen equipment and machinery
- Inspections & Audits
- Perform routine inspections of kitchens, dining areas, stores, and waste disposal areas
- Maintain inspection records and follow up on corrective actions
- Prepare reports for management review
- Incident Reporting & Investigation
- Investigate accidents, injuries, food contamination cases, and near-misses
- Identify root causes and implement preventive measures
- Maintain incident logs and ensure compliance reporting
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct training on food hygiene, workplace safety, and emergency procedures
- Deliver toolbox talks and refresher training for kitchen and service staff
- Promote a strong safety and hygiene culture
- PPE & Sanitation Management
- Ensure proper use of PPE (gloves, aprons, hairnets, etc.)
- Monitor cleaning schedules and sanitation processes
- Ensure availability of hygiene supplies and safety equipment
- Emergency Preparedness
- Support fire safety systems and emergency evacuation plans
- Conduct fire drills and emergency response training
- Ensure first aid kits and fire extinguishers are available and functional
- Environmental Management
- Monitor waste management practices, including food waste disposal
- Promote recycling and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health and Safety, Food Science, Hospitality Management, or related field
- Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in EHS within catering, hotels, or restaurants
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Experience in hospitality operations is highly preferred
- Strong integration on Management System
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Strong inspection, auditing, and reporting skills
- Risk assessment and hazard control expertise
- Good communication and staff training abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Certifications (Preferred):
- HACCP Certification
- Food Safety Level 2 or 3
- NEBOSH / OSHA certification
- First Aid & Fire Safety training
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Reduction in workplace incidents and food safety violations
- Successful audit results (internal & external inspections)
- Staff training completion rates
