Job Vacancy: ENT Specialist

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking a dynamic and qualified ENT Specialist to strengthen its ENT Unit within the General Surgery Department.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical and surgical ENT services across the Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), and Operating Theatre Department (OTD). The role also includes teaching, supervision, and service development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Services
- Attend OPD clinics for patient screening and diagnosis.
- Perform ENT surgical procedures in the operating theatre.
- Participate in ward rounds and on-call duties.
2. Consultation & Referral Support
- Review patients presented by junior doctors.
- Provide specialized ENT opinions to other departments upon request.
3. Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise junior doctors in OPD and inpatient wards.
- Participate in daily morning briefing and reporting sessions.
4. Service Development & Quality Improvement
- Contribute to marketing and expansion of ENT services.
- Develop disease management guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of medical data.
5. Academic & Research Contribution
- Participate in clinical audits and research activities.
- Promote a strong learning and teaching culture within CCBRT.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Registration
- Master’s Degree in Medicine with specialization in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) as an MMED in Otorhinolaryngology.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as a surgeon.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Competence in all relevant medical and invasive ENT procedures.
- Strong planning, organizational, and computer skills.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage).
- Strong counseling, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
