Position Overview
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Expat Leading Hand Mechanic to join and grow within our team.
Reporting to the HME Superintendent, this role is responsible for leading mechanical maintenance activities within the Engineering & Services Department. The successful candidate will ensure that all maintenance work is effectively planned, executed safely, and delivered cost-effectively to achieve production targets in line with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, systems, and strategies to ensure best practices in equipment maintenance
- Report defects and equipment breakdowns and recommend effective solutions
- Execute mechanical maintenance activities in line with standard procedures
- Ensure safe work practices including isolation, working at height, and confined space procedures
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and mobile equipment
- Conduct troubleshooting and fault finding to resolve equipment issues
- Maximize equipment availability and reliability
- Carry out equipment upgrades, modifications, and component replacements
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and ensure compliance
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to supervisors on equipment status
- Follow up on outstanding maintenance and repair work
- Conduct proper shift handovers
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on best practices
- Coordinate engineering and maintenance activities, including mobile fleet management
- Ensure maintenance work complies with relevant engineering standards
- Plan future maintenance requirements and corrective actions
- Identify critical spare parts and initiate procurement processes
- Perform statutory testing and inspections on electrical distribution systems
Qualification Requirements
- Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanics or Fitting
- Valid driver’s license
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Fitter
- Proven experience in maintenance of mining equipment and mobile fleet systems
