Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Follow all documented HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Promote a zero-harm culture, including reporting unsafe behaviors, participating in safety meetings, and sending safety alerts.
Field Operations & Drilling Support
- Coordinate daily drilling logistics, mobilizing work crews and ensuring the availability of safety gear and consumables.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels for drilling supplies and safety equipment.
- Conduct sampling (RC, soil, trench, stream), drill core orientation, geological measurements, sample processing, dispatch, and secure storage.
- Supervise field work according to company SOPs, including drill pad preparation and rig setup.
- Collect drill core samples with QA/QC compliance, ensuring sample integrity.
- Prepare and dispatch samples to the highest standards.
- Deliver timely geological data, daily/weekly reports, and documentation.
- Assist geologists with field mapping, sampling, drill site inspections, and other geological tasks.
- Conduct geotechnical measurements, sample processing, dispatch, and storage.
- Maintain accurate data entry and organized filing systems.
- Travel to sites across Tanzania as required.
Operational Excellence
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and management for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all work is corruption-free and aligned with the company’s Journey to Zero policies.
- Investigate high-potential incidents and act proactively to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Geology from a recognized institution or equivalent.
- Valid Tanzanian driving license.
Experience & Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mining industry.
- Experience in Emergency Power Generation is an added advantage.
Skills & Knowledge
- Hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English & Kiswahili).
- Computer literacy: MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Geological underground face mapping, sampling, and ore tracking.
