SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Female Pastry Chef is responsible for the preparation and presentation of all pastry, dessert, and baking items across the camp. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, artistic flair, and technical precision in executing a diverse range of sweet offerings—from plated desserts and petit fours to artisan breads, viennoiserie, and celebration cakes.

Working closely with the Head Chef, the Pastry Chef ensures consistent quality, taste, and visual standards while maintaining strict hygiene and food safety practices. You will contribute to menu development, manage pastry inventory, and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques. Your creativity and craftsmanship will directly enhance guest satisfaction and elevate the dining experience throughout the camp.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently prepare high‑quality and delicious pastries and desserts.
  • Ensure all products meet Asilia standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Maintain excellent organization, cleanliness, and safety in the pastry section.
  • Manage pastry operations smoothly through planning, prep, and equipment care.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior chefs when needed.
  • Contribute creatively by developing new desserts and updating menus.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to support overall service.
  • Adapt to guest preferences, dietary needs, and changing schedules.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a pastry or bakery environment, with strong skills in preparing, baking, and finishing desserts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in measurements, techniques, presentation, and food quality.
  • Highly disciplined, passionate about pastry arts, and open to sharing knowledge while continuously learning new skills and trends.
  • Strong dedication to the pastry craft, maintaining consistency, creativity, and high standards.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, adapt quickly to challenges, and adjust to changing menus or guest needs.
  • Enthusiastic, collaborative, trustworthy, and committed to delivering excellent guest experiences through desserts.
  • Maintains a consistently professional attitude in all situations.
  • Willing and able to work for 6 weeks to 2 months in a remote location, adapting to the unique working environment and lifestyle.
