Job Title: HSE Officer – TotalEnergies
Context & Environment
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is the responsibility of everyone. Your main objective is to build a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors at your site.
- Work may require long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Close coordination with:
- Internally: Operations Director, Internal Auditor, Commercial Department, Network Manager, HR Manager, Depot Managers, etc.
- Externally: Contractors, Engineering Consultants, Network Dealers, Consumers, Government Institutions (e.g., OSHA & NEMC).
Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the work permit system and prevention plans through regular worksite inspections.
- Promote the implementation of digital HSE tools such as IZI Safety, OSCAR, and digital permits.
- Ensure contractors are trained in TotalEnergies HSE requirements, including HSE procedures and ICC audits.
- Supervise high-risk activities daily and conduct periodic site inspections.
- Identify potential hazards and conduct HSE risk assessments (CTA, SCOPs, critical tasks) while communicating mitigation measures to the workforce.
- Enhance the HSE reward system, safety innovations, and zero-fatal accident programs to foster a strong safety culture.
- Execute emergency response procedures and conduct periodic drills with the site manager.
- Conduct HSE training and share REX (lessons learned) with employees and contractors.
- Coordinate overall inspection and audit activities, prepare action plans, and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- Record and monitor incidents, near misses, anomalies, and exposure values in Ramses, following up on action plans.
- Manage employee health, including monitoring food quality, conducting IH surveys, drinking water safety, and sanitation cleanliness.
- Ensure consignment and GT sites comply with HSE requirements, including periodic inspections, risk assessments, and integrity monitoring of critical equipment.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by the HSSE & TI Director.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering Degree from a recognized higher learning institution.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written) with strong communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Independent and able to deliver results under minimal supervision.
- Able to work under high pressure and demonstrate a high level of commitment.
