Job Overview
- Job Title: Head, Internal Audit

- Administrative: Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO)
- Job Objective:
To participate in the design of the Bank’s audit strategy and to plan, coordinate, and control audit activities in alignment with the Bank’s business goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspections:
Conduct full inspections of all business offices at least once per financial year and carry out spot checks on high-risk offices. - Compliance:
Ensure subsidiary-wide compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. - Investigations:
Carry out prompt and thorough investigations into frauds, forgeries, customer complaints, and breaches of bank policies. - Risk Management:
Assess and analyze risks relating to operational standards and recommend policy amendments based on emerging risk trends. - Reporting:
Prepare and submit regulatory returns on fraud cases and review schedules to ensure timely and accurate submission. - Leadership & Oversight:
Supervise Country Audit teams and monitor the performance of regional Audit teams to ensure audit effectiveness and quality.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is mandatory.
Work Experience
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong expertise in auditing and investigation.
- Sound accounting and credit skills.
- In-depth knowledge of fraud management and operational risk.
IT Competency
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and intranet-based mailing systems.
