CCBRT is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible and is actively involved in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC), including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.


Purpose of the Role

To strengthen the Nursing Department, CCBRT is seeking dynamic and committed Medical Attendants (Health Volunteers) to provide support and assistance to clinicians in allocated areas including OPD, IPD, OR, and OTD.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all working tools are available and in good working condition.
  • Direct patients and relatives appropriately within the facility.
  • Assist with patient preparation before consultations, examinations, or theatre procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assist in controlling patient flow within clinical areas.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies between units as required.
  • Verify specimens and ensure timely transport to the laboratory.
  • Maintain a clean, quiet, calm, and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly cleaning as per the cleaning schedule.

Candidate Requirements

  • Form IV Certificate plus one year of basic nursing training from a government-recognised institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Flexible, able to multitask, proactive, and eager to learn.
