HSE Engineer
Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HSE Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across all operations.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust HSE policies, identifying and mitigating risks in manufacturing and maintenance activities, and fostering a proactive safety culture. Additionally, you will support sustainability initiatives, including the organization’s carbon neutrality goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. HSE Compliance & Monitoring
- Conduct inspections, safety observation tours, and audits across production lines, assembly areas, and maintenance workshops
- Ensure compliance with HSE legal requirements and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities
- Monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations
2. Risk Management & Safety Systems
- Perform risk assessments (ABRA) and Life Saving Rules (LSR) self-assessments
- Manage change processes, including risk assessments and environmental impact evaluations
- Develop and maintain the HSE Management System aligned with:
- ISO 14001
- ISO 45001
- Global company standards
3. Fire & Emergency Safety
- Prepare fire risk assessments and operational emergency plans
- Maintain knowledge of fire pump systems and fire protection equipment
4. Incident Management
- Investigate incidents and near misses
- Prepare detailed reports and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Track non-conformities (NCs) and ensure closure of NCRs
5. Training & Awareness
- Deliver HSE inductions and job-specific training for employees and contractors
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance on safety protocols and machinery compliance
6. Environmental & Sustainability Management
- Lead hazardous materials management, including disposal compliance and documentation
- Support sustainability initiatives and carbon neutrality programs
- Conduct environmental aspect and impact assessments
7. Performance & Strategy
- Support business units in achieving HSE KPIs
- Develop and drive HSE strategic action plans
- Ensure continuous improvement in safety performance
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10–12 years of relevant work experience in HSE or related fields
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Strong knowledge of:
- Project management methodologies
- Machinery safety standards
- Environmental and safety regulations
