Job Overview
The HVM & Strategic Partnership Manager is a leadership role responsible for managing high-value merchant (HVM) portfolios, driving revenue growth, executing strategic partnerships, and leading Market Attack strategies in key verticals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- MBA or professional certification in Strategic Management is highly preferred.
- 6–10 years of experience in Fintech, Corporate Banking, or Mobile Financial Services (MFS).
- At least 4 years in a leadership role managing high-value B2B portfolios.
Core Responsibilities
- Define commercial value propositions for merchant tiers and oversee a large HVM portfolio to drive sustained revenue growth.
- Own the HVM P&L, optimizing revenue through MDR, value-added services, and ecosystem transaction flows (M2M, M2B).
- Design and execute sector-specific “Market Attack” strategies for high-value verticals like fuel, supermarkets, FMCG, and hospitality.
- Lead high-level negotiations on partnerships, commercial terms, and long-term growth roadmaps, converting them into scalable acquisition and activation engines.
- Directly manage Key Account Managers (KAMs), providing data-driven guidance and ensuring measurable financial outcomes.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify value leakage, growth blockers, and corrective actions; monitor aggressive KPIs (TPV, revenue, transaction frequency) and run weekly performance reviews.
- Deploy rapid churn prevention and rescue interventions for top-tier merchants showing early signs of decline.
- Lead reactivation of dormant or declining HVMs using big data insights to restore sustainable transaction activity.
- Serve as the internal expert on competitive moves, ensuring pricing, product features, and responses remain market-leading.
- Oversee strategic partnership development, including API integrations, digital collection mandates, and industry alliances.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Tech, Trade Marketing, and GTM teams to prioritize sector-critical enhancements and remove execution gaps.
- Provide data-driven insights, revenue forecasts, and consolidated reporting to leadership, flagging risks and refining strategy continuously.
