JOB TITLE
Name: IT Support Officer

JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
The position holder will provide second-level support to users’ incident calls after IT Care or any system implementation/deployment in the assigned territory, within agreed service levels. The officer will take responsibility for all IT issues in the allotted branches.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide on-site maintenance and troubleshooting for personal computer hardware, peripherals, software, network connections, and other equipment.
- Respond to assigned trouble tickets from IT Care and calls from departmental users.
- Diagnose causes of personal computer operational problems and take or recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform software installation and setup procedures.
- Carry out basic network configuration procedures for users.
- Perform component diagnosis and recommend replacements to vendors where necessary.
- Assist users in the use of computer software, including standard office software, network and systems client software, and specialized banking software (e.g. Finacle/CBA).
- Instruct employees/users on appropriate techniques to enhance productive use of computer hardware and software.
- Provide guidance and demonstrations to new employees on relevant work tasks.
- Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to remain current with IT developments.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Keep the immediate supervisor informed of work progress, challenges, and improvement suggestions.
- Submit weekly reports to the IT Executive of the regional bank.

- Timeliness in response to complaints and enquiries.
- Ratio of faults resolved to total reported faults.
- Timeliness in completion of projects and ad-hoc assignments.
- Efficiency of job resolution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Business Information Systems or Computer Science.
Professional Qualifications
- MSCP
- CCNA
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in a similar position.
KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- Intermediate networking skills.
- Windows 2000 / XP administration skills (including MS Exchange).
- Finacle 7.0.9 user support / administration skills.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- In-depth knowledge of and interest in IT systems.
