Job Summary
Alliance Life Assurance Ltd is seeking a skilled Life Policy Administrator responsible for efficiently managing life policy administration and supporting underwriting activities.
The role ensures smooth operational workflows, high levels of customer satisfaction, and contributes to business growth. The successful candidate will also mentor interns and new recruits while supporting management with operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Life Business Underwriting
- Perform underwriting within established company parameters.
- Conduct risk quotations and determine appropriate policy terms and conditions.
- Liaise with intermediaries for business acquisition and policy services.
- Ensure policies comply with company standards and risk guidelines.
2. Policy Administration
- Prepare policy documents and issue cover notes.
- Follow up on premium payments.
- Handle day-to-day client service inquiries.
- Manage policy changes and amendments.
- Update and maintain policy registers with accurate information.
3. Claims Participation
- Participate in claims management and claims handling processes.
4. Data Management
- Maintain and update life policy data with strict confidentiality.
- Organize and maintain business documents in both digital and physical formats.
- Continuously update policy information in the system.
- Extract operational reports when required.
5. Medical Process Management
- Maintain a reconciled database of issued medical letters.
- Track medical reports and follow up on settlement of medical bills.
- Communicate underwriting decisions related to medical processes.
6. Reinsurance and Valuation Support
- Calculate reinsurance premiums within established timelines.
- Prepare and submit valuation data as required.
7. Commission Administration
- Prepare commission payments for internal and external intermediaries.
8. Customer Service & Complaints Handling
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Ensure issues are resolved within the defined service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Insurance
- Actuarial Science
- Mathematics
- Or a related field.
Professional Certification
- CII Certification or progress toward certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in life insurance policy administration.
- Familiarity with insurance principles and practices in Tanzania.
Technical Skills
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
