Website Mbali Mbali Lodges and Camps
Mbalimbali has a collection of five safari lodges in Tanzania
Lodge Manager at Mbali Mbali Lodges and Camps, Arusha – December 2025
Mbali Mbali Lodges and Camps is a boutique collection of five high-end, intimate properties located in some of Tanzania’s most remote and diverse wilderness areas.
Unlike larger hotel chains, Mbali Mbali focuses on “the trail less traveled,” positioning their lodges in unique ecosystems ranging from the volcanic plains of the Serengeti to the chimpanzee-filled forests of Lake Tanganyika.
The Five Properties
-
Mbali Mbali Soroi Serengeti (Serengeti National Park)
-
Vibe: High-end luxury with “endless views.”
-
Setting: Built on a high natural plateau in the Western Corridor.
-
Highlights: Features a three-tier decked main area with an infinity pool overlooking the Musabi Plains. It’s famous for its unique architecture and outdoor showers.
-
-
Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp (Tarangire National Park)
-
Vibe: Authentic, classic safari.
-
Setting: Located on a bluff overlooking a branch of the Tarangire River.
-
Highlights: Set within a 25,000-hectare private concession. It’s one of the best spots to see massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.
-
-
Mbali Mbali Mahale (Mahale Mountains National Park)
-
Vibe: Tropical forest meets white-sand beach.
-
Setting: On the shores of Lake Tanganyika, accessible only by boat or air.
-
Highlights: One of the few places in the world where you can trek to see wild chimpanzees in the morning and go kayaking or fishing on the lake in the afternoon.
-
-
Mbali Mbali Katavi (Katavi National Park)
-
Vibe: Raw, remote, and wild.
-
Setting: In the center of the park, overlooking the Katisunga floodplains.
-
Highlights: Katavi is one of Tanzania’s least-visited parks. It offers a “time travel” experience to an Africa untouched by mass tourism, featuring enormous pods of hippos and crocodiles.
-
-
Mbali Mbali Gombe (Gombe Stream National Park)
-
Vibe: Intimate and scientific.
-
Setting: On the shores of Lake Tanganyika in the park made famous by Jane Goodall.
-
Highlights: A very small lodge (only 7 tents) focused on chimpanzee trekking and birdwatching.
-
What Makes Them Unique?
-
Remote Locations: They specialize in the Western and Southern circuits of Tanzania, which are much quieter than the busy Northern parks.
-
Sustainable Luxury: Most properties use solar power and are designed with a low environmental footprint, using natural materials like thatch and timber.
-
The “Shared Charter”: Because their lodges are so remote (especially Mahale and Katavi), the company operates its own shared flight charters from Arusha to make these locations accessible to guests.
