Purpose of the Role

Selected candidates will undergo a practical training and assessment programme before being considered for a role as a Mining Operator, subject to qualifying as a competent operator.

The Mining Operator will:

• Operate heavy mining equipment including Bull Dozer, Excavators, Graders, ADT
• Perform preventative and general inspections on equipment
• Deliver work according to plan
• Ensure adherence to safety processes and practices

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate of Secondary School Education (CSEE) is an advantage
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License class B & D or higher
• Operator certificate including final assessment from a recognized technical training school

Experience

• Basic technical knowledge of Excavator, Wheel Loader, Grader, Bull Dozer, and other heavy equipment
• Physically and mentally fit to operate heavy mining equipment
• Experience in mining or construction projects (2–3 years or more) is an advantage
• Strong commitment to safety

Note: Appointment is subject to:

• Passing a practical site test
• Medical check-up by an authorized medical practitioner
• Possession of NIDA ID and TIN number
• Introduction letter from local government authority and letters from two referees

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all instructions from qualified equipment trainers and supervisors
• Operate heavy mining equipment safely and efficiently
• Take reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others
• Be proactive in operational safety and work collaboratively within the mining team
• Perform safety pre-start checks on equipment
• Report faults promptly to the supervisor
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures and working practices
• Follow lawful production instructions at all times

Additional Requirements

• Good team player
• Fluent in Kiswahili, English, or both
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
