Position: Maintenance Planner
The Maintenance Planner will undertake all relevant duties at site level under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. The role is responsible for ensuring that maintenance plans are updated and available in weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules, enabling work to be carried out efficiently on mobile equipment in accordance with mining regulations and capital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all maintenance planning functions at site level.
- Ensure personal safety compliance and adherence to all company safety regulations related to site operations.
- Coordinate the development of maintenance plans and issue maintenance schedules and work orders for the company’s mobile fleet.
- Provide data and feedback to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in the development of maintenance plans and budgets for the mobile equipment fleet.
- Work with the engineering support group to ensure equipment is maintained to standards that preserve equipment integrity and ensure safe operations.
- Ensure the company maintains updated plans and technical drawings for mobile equipment.
- Input maintenance data to ensure continuity and accuracy of maintenance plans.
- Ensure adherence to relevant mining regulations for all maintenance work performed by the maintenance teams.
- Provide technical advice, data, and maintenance history to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure 100% compliance with company policies and national laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of maintenance planning and equipment maintenance.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with technicians and supervisors.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop in maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems is an added advantage.
Education & Training
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance.
- Experience in maintenance planning within the drilling or mining industry will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in multinational and culturally diverse environments.
Physical Requirements
- Candidates must be physically fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job.
