Job Summary: R&D and Market Intelligence

This role is the primary driver of NBC’s Research & Development agenda. It focuses on economic intelligence, market dynamics, and consumer behavior to influence product design, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

1. Market Intelligence & Research

  • Industry Scanning: Lead competitive analysis, regulatory trend monitoring, and macroeconomic assessments.

  • Consumer Research: Analyze customer needs, emerging expectations, and global banking benchmarks (e.g., Fintech, Digital Payments).

  • Strategic Reporting: Produce deep-dive insights and reports to support senior leadership in identifying opportunities and threats.

2. Research & Development (R&D)

  • Innovation: Explore new technologies, business models, and product opportunities.

  • Validation: Partner with product teams to create feasibility assessments, business cases, and concept notes.

  • Prototyping: Facilitate experimentation, prototype testing, and pilot implementations of new concepts.

3. Customer Insights & Behavior Analytics

  • Journey Mapping: Conduct segmentation and journey analysis to uncover friction points.

  • Persona Development: Create customer personas and behavioral insights to guide product roadmaps.

  • Sentiment Tracking: Monitor usage patterns and product performance to recommend optimizations.

4. Process Optimization & Product Support

  • Efficiency: Lead transformation initiatives to simplify processes, reduce operational inefficiencies, and improve Turnaround Time (TAT).

  • Agility: Optimize “Time-to-Market” for new products while ensuring compliance.

  • Strategy: Support pricing strategies, value propositions, and Go-To-Market (GTM) frameworks.


Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce, Management Studies, or related fields.

  • Professional Level: Experience in a similar environment at a Junior Specialist level.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong background in Management Information Systems (MIS).
