Job Summary
The Marketing & Digital Officer will play a strategic role in positioning Alliance Life Assurance Limited as Tanzania’s most innovative, customer-centric, and digitally advanced life insurer.
The role combines traditional marketing expertise (ATL, BTL, events, and PR) with modern digital marketing capabilities such as social media, SEO, content marketing, and generative AI tools. The position will contribute to strengthening the company’s brand as the “People’s Insurer” — accessible, innovative, and trustworthy.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Execute the annual marketing strategy aligned with company growth objectives, customer segments, and competitive positioning.
- Lead Above-The-Line (ATL) campaigns including:
- Television commercials
- Radio advertising
- Billboards
- Newspaper and magazine advertisements
- Execute Below-The-Line (BTL) activities including:
- Branch activations
- Roadshows
- Exhibitions
- Sponsorships
- Promotional events and direct marketing
- Manage the marketing budget ensuring optimal allocation based on ROI and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate with marketing agencies for campaign development and execution.
- Maintain a marketing calendar aligned with product launches and seasonal opportunities.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Management
- Execute the company’s digital marketing strategy, covering:
- Website management
- Social media marketing
- Search engine marketing (SEM)
- Email marketing
- WhatsApp marketing
- Emerging digital platforms
- Develop a social media content strategy balancing:
- Brand awareness
- Product promotion
- Financial education
- Customer success stories
- Community engagement.
Content Creation & Brand Storytelling
- Develop engaging brand narratives to strengthen emotional connection with audiences.
- Create and manage content including:
- Brand stories
- Customer testimonials
- Financial education materials
- Product explainer content
- Thought leadership articles
- Corporate communications
- Maintain a content calendar for consistent communication across platforms.
Brand Management & Public Relations
- Manage the Alliance Life brand identity ensuring consistent messaging and positioning.
- Handle public relations activities, including:
- Media relations
- Press releases
- Media inquiries
- Crisis communications
- Build relationships with Tanzania’s insurance, finance, and business media outlets.
- Monitor media coverage and social media sentiment, responding proactively when necessary.
Marketing Materials & Collateral Management
- Ensure the availability of high-quality marketing materials supporting sales channels.
- Work with Sales and Actuarial teams to produce:
- Product brochures
- Policy summaries
- Proposal forms
- Sales presentations
- Pitch materials
- Manage relationships with printers, signage suppliers, and promotional merchandise providers.
- Maintain a digital asset management system for marketing materials.
- Ensure all materials comply with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
Customer Insights & NPS Co-Ownership
- Co-manage Net Promoter Score (NPS) with Business Conservation & Customer Service teams.
- Use customer feedback to improve marketing strategy and messaging.
- Identify brand advocates for testimonials, case studies, and referral campaigns.
Partnership Marketing & CSR Initiatives
- Collaborate with strategic partners on co-marketing campaigns and promotions.
- Lead Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) marketing initiatives, including:
- Financial Literacy Academy promotion
- Community engagement programs
- Sponsorship activities
- Support employer branding initiatives, including employee advocacy and recruitment marketing.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Digital Marketing
- Or related field.
Professional Experience
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in marketing, digital marketing, or communications within a corporate environment.
- Experience in insurance, banking, telecoms, or FMCG sectors is preferred.
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- Digital marketing certifications such as:
- Google Ads
- Facebook Blueprint
- HubSpot Inbound Marketing.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in design tools, including:
- Canva
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience using marketing analytics and campaign tools, such as:
- Google Analytics
- Facebook Business Manager
- Video production and editing skills using:
- Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro
- CapCut
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, including:
- HubSpot
- Mailchimp
- ActiveCampaign
- Knowledge of generative AI tools for marketing, such as:
- ChatGPT
- Midjourney
- Jasper AI
- Copy.ai
Additional Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Experience working with creative agencies and external vendors
- Knowledge of the Tanzanian media landscape and regulatory environment
- Experience in insurance or financial services marketing within Tanzania or East Africa is an advantage.
