Marketing, Social Media, and Communications Volunteer

The Foundation for African Empowerment (FAE) is seeking a passionate and creative Marketing, Social Media, and Communications Volunteer to help expand the organization’s digital presence and strengthen engagement with the public.

Role Overview

As a volunteer, you will serve as the voice of the organization, responsible for communicating FAE’s mission to members, stakeholders, and the general public. Your main goal will be to increase awareness and engagement around the foundation’s work and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

• Establish and maintain active social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
• Ensure regular updates and consistent communication across all platforms.

Content Creation

• Research and create engaging content including blogs, news updates, and e-newsletters.
• Produce creative posts that highlight the organization’s activities and impact.

Planning

• Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar to ensure consistent messaging and updates.

Community Engagement

• Respond to comments and messages professionally.
• Connect with local influencers, partners, and community networks to increase engagement.

Collaboration

• Work closely with project staff to identify impactful stories and field updates that can be shared with the public.

Reporting

• Prepare short monthly reports on social media engagement and communication activities for the management team.

Candidate Profile

FAE is looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting children, young people, and families, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in social media scheduling tools.
• Basic digital photography skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Communication Skills

• Excellent written English and interpersonal communication skills.

Professionalism

• Strong time management, reliability, and understanding of confidentiality.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
