Position: MLOps & Data Platform Engineer (Open to All Genders)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled MLOps & Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data and machine learning infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud platforms, automation, and deploying robust ML systems in production environments.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in DevOps, MLOps, or Cloud/Data Platform Engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, tooling, and pipeline development
• Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar), including:
  • Query optimisation
  • Scripted migrations
  • Pipeline integration
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
  • Glue, Lambda, Step Functions
  • S3, Athena, EC2/ECS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Comfortable working with Docker and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes/EKS)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)

Your Key Responsibilities (Challenges)

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and ML model deployments
• Manage and optimise AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
• Containerise and deploy ML models using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and reliability
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms for pipelines and inference services
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to move models from experimentation to production
• Manage Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning and enforce cloud cost efficiency
• Support and maintain data platform reliability across multiple countries:
  • Tanzania, Madagascar, Senegal, Togo, and Comoros
