💼 Position Overview
WFP Tanzania seeks to hire a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (SC 9) to support the development and implementation of Monitoring, Review, and Evaluation (MRE) plans aligned with WFP’s corporate standards. The successful candidate will ensure quality data collection, analysis, and reporting to guide evidence-based decision-making and strengthen accountability.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Implement the WFP Tanzania Monitoring Strategy and annual work plan.
- Lead monitoring of WFP activities, ensuring accurate data collection, management, and reporting.
- Support the adoption of WFP’s new Corporate Results Framework (CRF) and monitoring standards.
- Develop and update MRE plans, SOPs, and monitoring tools.
- Strengthen data management systems and train staff on WFP corporate platforms (COMET, MoDA).
- Oversee monitoring staff at country and field-office levels.
- Lead periodic reviews and evaluations to inform project improvements.
- Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, and government partners to enhance inter-agency monitoring.
- Build staff capacity in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
🎓 Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Economics, Performance Management, or Monitoring and Evaluation.
- A first university degree with additional experience may be accepted.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in monitoring and evaluation within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Proven experience in team leadership, project management, and data analysis.
- Strong background in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili (Level C).
