Job Summary
The Payments & Channels Officer will support and manage electronic banking services and payment solutions. The role focuses on implementing cash management solutions, driving digital payment utilization, supporting electronic banking operations, and ensuring efficient delivery of payment products to customers.
Key Objectives
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the implementation of cash management services after proposals involving multiple products, services, locations, or geographies are accepted by customers.
- Support day-to-day operations of electronic banking services delivered to customers.
- Drive digital payment product utilization and penetration while managing dormancy across channels.
- Manage problem resolution processes to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Position the bank as the preferred provider of cash management solutions in the country.
- Manage sales pipelines and deal conversion processes in collaboration with Relationship Officers (RO) and Relationship Managers (RM).
- Maintain a proactive client engagement plan for key relationships.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly payment performance reports.
- Monitor and manage the performance of payment products.
- Support customer acquisition by enhancing the bank’s value proposition and client experience.
- Provide sales support to Account Managers to secure business from potential customers.
- Ensure smooth launch of new products and enhancements of electronic banking services.
- Support payment service initiatives and best practice migration across the organization.
- Ensure successful implementation of solutions by working with customer implementation teams until stable utilization is achieved.
- Participate in channel rollout initiatives led by Group Channels Management.
Implementation & Operational Responsibilities
The role requires strong coordination and project management skills to ensure efficient implementation of payment solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate project implementation activities, track milestones, and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product Management, Legal, Finance, vendors, and partner banks.
- Perform the role of Implementation Officer when multiple implementation teams are involved.
- Ensure implementation quality standards are maintained.
- Provide customer support for electronic banking services through effective communication and problem resolution.
- Ensure quick resolution of technical queries related to electronic banking.
- Maintain compliance with bank policies and operational standards.
- Monitor implementation turnaround times to accelerate revenue realization.
- Train Sales and Product Managers on electronic banking technologies and benefits.
- Support the development of customized solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including:
- Payment/Cash Management Cluster Heads
- Country Channels and Solution Delivery teams
- Group IT and Operations
- External software vendors
- Local banks and outsourcing partners
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and product trial runs to ensure new electronic banking releases meet usability standards.
Products & Services to be Implemented
The officer will support implementation of cash e-banking products and services, including:
- Packaged and non-packaged global products
- Sweeping services
- Premium collections
- Host-to-Host solutions
- Other non-standard offerings requiring cross-team coordination
Education Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Added Advantage:
- MBA, MSc, MA, ML, or relevant professional qualifications.
Work Experience
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Practical experience in sales, design, and implementation of Electronic Banking Solutions.
