Position Summary
The Process Operator will join the Manufacturing Team reporting to the Team Leader – Packaging. The primary responsibility of the role is to operate the process area, perform quality checks, carry out autonomous maintenance, and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
The role emphasizes quality control, process optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement in line with CCBA operational standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Operating & Process Control
- Operate the process area according to work instructions and adherence to usage standards.
- Perform quality checks as per quality control procedures.
- Record waste in relevant documentation and analyze trends to identify issues or improvement opportunities.
- Monitor process performance against targets and complete short interval control documentation.
- Respond rapidly to upstream or downstream stoppages using defined problem-solving approaches.
- Conduct housekeeping following 5S principles and safe work practices.
- Perform flavour and size changeovers as instructed.
- Support fellow team members in completing operational tasks.
2. Maintenance of Plant & Equipment
- Conduct deep cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of machines per work instructions and maintenance schedules.
- Perform autonomous maintenance activities and assist process artisans with maintenance tasks.
- Execute breakdown maintenance tasks as required.
3. Quality Control & Analysis
- Carry out quality checks and document results in the designated systems.
- Calibrate quality control equipment and request assistance from the core lab as needed.
- Analyze quality trends to identify issues and improvement opportunities.
- Resolve quality problems independently or escalate unresolved issues to the team leader.
4. Communication
- Actively participate in shift meetings and team goal review sessions.
- Record issues and improvement opportunities using the gap list.
- Maintain effective communication via shift handover books and other media.
5. Problem Solving
- Apply appropriate problem-solving techniques such as 5Why, Quick Fix, One Point Lessons (OPL).
- Escalate unresolved problems to team leader or process artisan.
- Verify that resolved problems are permanently addressed.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Use tools such as run/control charts, short stop analysis, and Pareto charts to identify waste and variation.
- Record improvement opportunities on the team gap list and engage team members and specialist resources as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in packaging operations and process control.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Knowledge of WCM foundational practices, bottling principles, product handling, and quality control.
- Ability to troubleshoot, work in teams, and follow SHE policies and procedures.
