The Assignment: Purpose & Project
WFP is supporting the Tanzanian government’s National Multisectoral Nutrition Action Plan (NMNAP II). The primary focus of this consultancy is the MIMI Project, which uses novel analytical modeling to map the risk of inadequate micronutrient intake and compare policy scenarios to improve national health outcomes.
### Key Accountabilities

Project Management: Lead the day-to-day coordination of the MIMI Project.

Portfolio Oversight: Manage WFP Tanzania’s food fortification and biofortification initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Map and build networks with government entities, NGOs, UN agencies, the private sector, and academia.

Strategy & Policy: Finalize the “Food Fortification Position Paper” and the “Healthy Diets Strategy” for the Country Strategic Plan.

Resource Mobilization: Lead the drafting of concept notes and proposals to secure funding for micronutrient programs.

Capacity Building: Develop training manuals and communication products (infographics, videos) regarding fortification and biofortification.
Candidate Requirements
Education
-
Advanced University Degree (Master’s or higher) in Public Health, Nutrition, Food Technology, Public Policy, or Social Sciences.
Experience
-
Years: 5–10 years of professional experience in nutrition/public health.

Specialization: Proven expertise in micronutrients, food fortification, or biofortification.

Advocacy: Experience translating scientific evidence into policy messages and advocacy materials.

Liaison: Demonstrated history of working with government bodies and international development partners.
Skills & Languages

Technical: Strong knowledge of Tanzania’s nutrition context and policies.

Software: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Languages: Fluency in English and Swahili (written and verbal).
