JOB VACANCY: Quality Control Officer – Aluminium Products
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam
Job Purpose
The Quality Control Officer will ensure that all aluminium products manufactured in the factory meet the company’s quality standards, technical specifications, and client requirements before delivery and installation.
The role focuses on monitoring production processes, inspecting finished products, and ensuring compliance with quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Inspection and Control
- Inspect raw aluminium materials, accessories, and components before production
- Conduct regular quality checks during fabrication, cutting, assembling, and finishing
- Inspect finished products such as doors, windows, partitions, railings, shower enclosures, and balconies
- Ensure all products meet approved drawings, measurements, and client specifications
2. Production Process Monitoring
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure proper fabrication techniques
- Ensure correct use of aluminium profiles, glass, and hardware
- Verify machines and tools maintain required precision and standards
3. Defect Identification and Correction
- Identify defects, damages, or inconsistencies
- Work with production teams to correct and prevent defects
- Reject products that do not meet quality standards
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain inspection reports for raw materials, in-process, and finished products
- Document defects, corrective actions, and improvement recommendations
- Submit regular quality reports to management
5. Compliance with Company Standards
- Ensure adherence to company quality policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in inspection areas
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards
6. Measurement and Technical Verification
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and finishing quality
- Ensure accurate cutting, assembly, and finishing
- Use measuring tools to confirm precision and tolerances
7. Coordination with Departments
- Work closely with Production, Design, and Installation teams
- Communicate quality issues and recommend improvements
8. Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality
- Participate in quality control training programs
- Support development of quality checklists and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in aluminium fabrication, metal works, or construction manufacturing
- Knowledge of aluminium profiles, glass installation, and hardware accessories
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
