Role Overview: Regional Sales Executive

Locations: Katavi (Primary), Arusha, Manyara, Mbeya, Morogoro, Njombe

Core Mission

To drive sales growth for PAYGO (Pay-As-You-Go) and portable solar products. You will be the face of the brand in the field, managing a network of agents and building community relationships to make solar energy accessible to off-grid households.


Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Market Expansion

  • Direct Sales: Conduct awareness campaigns and direct selling at Experience Centers.

  • Outreach: Execute community engagement activities to identify and onboard new customers.

  • Channel Activation: Open new sales avenues through Schools, SACCOs, MFIs, NGOs, and Farmers’ Groups.

2. Team Leadership & Agent Management

  • Recruitment: Source, hire, and train a high-performing team of sales agents.

  • Coaching: Provide ongoing mentorship to agents to ensure they hit their individual targets.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor daily/weekly sales data and adjust strategies as needed.

3. Distribution & Logistics

  • Stock Management: Ensure 95%+ stock availability across all retail outlets and distributors.

  • Supply Chain: Coordinate efficient stock movement to prevent “out-of-stock” scenarios in rural areas.

4. Market Intelligence

  • Customer Service: Resolve complaints and inquiries quickly to maintain brand trust.

  • Competitor Analysis: Track competitor pricing and activities, providing regular reports to management.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience: * 2–3 years in sales (FMCG, Telecom, or Renewable Energy preferred).

    • Specific experience in PAYGO or rural markets is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in mobile reporting tools and data handling.

  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, self-driven attitude, and the ability to travel extensively.


Performance Metrics (KPIs)

To succeed in this role, you will be measured on:

  1. Meeting monthly and quarterly sales volume targets.

  2. The number and quality of new sales agents recruited.

  3. Maintaining stock levels (95%+) in your assigned territory.

  4. Successful activation of new institutional channels (e.g., a new SACCO partnership).
