About the Role
Yara is seeking a Regional Sales Manager – East Africa to lead and grow its Mining Applications business, the global leader in Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN).
This is a strategic leadership role combining commercial strategy, customer relationship management, and hands-on execution. The successful candidate will drive growth across East Africa by identifying new opportunities, strengthening key partnerships, and championing sustainability and innovation initiatives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of mining solutions in the region—supporting safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Market Strategy: Develop and execute a regional commercial strategy that drives growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across all product lines.
- Customer Leadership: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, positioning Yara as the preferred partner for mining solutions.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and lead market intelligence initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.
- Innovation & Sustainability: Champion innovation and sustainability initiatives that create customer value and support Yara’s environmental commitments.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with Yara’s HESQ standards and Code of Conduct, fostering a strong culture of safety and integrity.
- Performance Delivery: Prepare business cases, manage forecasts, coordinate logistics, and ensure excellent execution and customer experience.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of successful commercial experience in an international environment within mining, chemicals, or related industries.
- Strong business acumen, analytical capability, and a results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of the explosives industry and technical nitrates is an advantage.
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility in commercial roles.
- Proven ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships across multi-country environments.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Swahili, French, or Arabic is an added advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the region.
Location Requirement
The role must be based in a country within East Africa where Yara has an established office.
Preferred location: South Africa
Alternative locations: Tanzania or Kenya
