Position: Relationship Manager – Corporate

Purpose of the Role

The Relationship Manager – Corporate is responsible for managing and growing relationships with corporate clients. The role focuses on both assets (loans) and liabilities (deposits), advising clients on business strategy, overseeing credit risk, and providing leadership to Relationship Officers. The goal is to ensure business growth, maintain high service standards, and meet clients’ financial needs.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with corporate clients.
  • Understand clients’ financial needs and provide tailored banking solutions.
  • Maintain proactive engagement to identify new business opportunities.

2. Revenue Generation

  • Drive growth in assets (loans) and liabilities (deposits).
  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate new client acquisitions and cross-sell banking products.

3. Risk Management

  • Oversee credit risk for assigned corporate portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Conduct KYC reviews and risk assessments during client onboarding and portfolio management.

4. Client Service & Support

  • Ensure timely and effective response to client inquiries and service requests.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Officers to improve client service offerings and revenue generation.

5. Business Development & Strategy

  • Prepare business development strategies and presentations for senior management.
  • Identify new market opportunities and contribute to strategic corporate initiatives.

6. Operational Excellence

  • Ensure adherence to banking policies, procedures, and operational controls, including cash handling and account management.
  • Monitor portfolio performance to ensure compliance with risk criteria.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking & Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Corporate Banking.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, financial markets, and banking regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and drive business growth.
  • Focus on delivering value and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on risk management and compliance.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to quality service.
