Position Objective

The Relationship Officer II is responsible for creating, building, and managing customer relationships to ensure the optimal sale of bank products. The core objective is to meet the branch sales budget by sourcing new-to-bank (NTB) customers and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

 Key Responsibilities

• Relationship & Sales Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients and cross-sell bank products to meet assigned targets.

  • Responsible for recruiting new-to-bank (NTB) customers.

  • Drive deposit growth, increase revenue, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Establish weekly and monthly pipelines and business initiatives and ensure timely submission.

  • Support the branch manager in preparing and providing inputs for branch sales-related budgets.

• Lending & Portfolio Quality:

  • Grow the MSME portfolio through tailored financial solutions and advisory support.

  • Ensure the growth of a quality loan portfolio in line with annual agreed targets.

  • Facilitate the loan approval process by reviewing and verifying loan applications against the lending manual, procedures, and process before channeling them to relevant units/approvers.

• Compliance & Service:

  • Ensure full compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Deliver excellent banking service and relationship management to ensure excellent customer experience.

  • Perform any other duties as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

• Experience: At least one (1) year of working experience in the banking industry. (Experience on direct sales or sales executive is an added advantage).

Essential Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent communication, numerical, analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.

• Conversant with standard computer applications (MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access).

• Sound knowledge of market and general business environments in the banking value chains.

• Excellent knowledge of banking operations and financial markets in Tanzania.

• Understanding of other bank’s loan products, policies, and procedures for cross-selling purposes.

• Knowledge of counterparties dynamics and related laws in Tanzania.
