Job Purpose

The Relationship Officer (Individual Lending) is responsible for promoting VFT individual loan products, savings, and insurance services. The role involves client recruitment, credit assessment, and portfolio management while ensuring high portfolio quality and achievement of business targets.


Key Responsibilities

Part A: Banking Activities (Savings & Insurance Sales)

  • Promote and cross-sell savings and insurance products (life, motor, hospi-cash, etc.)
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable financial products
  • Educate clients on product features, benefits, and terms
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with policies and regulations
  • Support clients through insurance claims processes
  • Act as intermediary for insurance placement and claims management
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to encourage retention and renewals
  • Ensure compliance with bancassurance policies and procedures

Part B: Lending Activities

  • Market and promote individual loan products within designated areas
  • Identify and recruit eligible loan clients
  • Conduct client screening based on eligibility criteria
  • Perform business and home visits for verification and credit assessment
  • Conduct cash flow and collateral analysis to determine creditworthiness
  • Assist clients in completing loan applications and documentation
  • Compile and present loan files to the credit committee
  • Verify authenticity of client documents
  • Monitor loan repayment and enforce zero-tolerance policy on defaults
  • Follow up on delinquent loans and document recovery actions
  • Maintain accurate client records and files
  • Achieve monthly lending targets
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and support requests
  • Submit timely daily and weekly reports
  • Provide feedback on business performance and strategic issues

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Uphold VFT values and Code of Conduct
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Promote ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability
  • Support financial crime prevention and consumer protection initiatives
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve risk and compliance issues effectively

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant academic qualification in Business, Finance, Banking, or related field

  • Knowledge of savings, insurance, and loan products
  • Understanding of credit processes and risk management
