Position Overview
Asilia Africa is looking for a professional and experienced Relief Safari Guide based in Arusha.
The role involves delivering exceptional safari experiences for guests, sharing expert knowledge about wildlife and ecosystems, and supporting camp operations when needed.
Core Responsibilities
Guiding & Guest Experience
- Deliver safe, engaging, and educational safari experiences tailored to guest interests.
- Provide high-quality guiding services that meet international hospitality standards.
Operational Flexibility
- Drive available safari vehicles depending on operational needs (no fixed vehicle assigned).
- Adapt to different camps or guiding assignments when required.
Knowledge Sharing
- Provide detailed information about wildlife, ecosystems, conservation, and local cultures.
- Enhance guest understanding of Tanzania’s natural heritage.
Vehicle Management
- Perform pre-safari vehicle safety checks.
- Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
Safety and Emergency Response
- Maintain basic first aid certification.
- Respond quickly and effectively to medical or safety incidents in remote areas.
Camp Support
- Assist with guest transfers and camp-based guiding activities when required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a professional safari guide.
Regional Expertise
Proven guiding experience in Tanzania’s major national parks, including:
- Serengeti National Park
- Tarangire National Park
- Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Lake Manyara National Park
- Southern Tanzania safari regions.
Language Skills
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to speak at least one additional foreign language.
Preferred Languages
- German
- Spanish
Driving Requirements
- Valid Class C driving license.
- Strong off-road driving experience.
