Job Summary

The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of scientific studies, ensuring strict adherence to OECD GLP principles. This role requires a blend of rigorous laboratory oversight, data integrity management, and multi-regional project supervision.


Key Responsibilities

Study Management & Compliance

  • Protocol Oversight: Ensure all procedures in the study plan are strictly followed. Inform the Study Director of any deviations and implement corrective actions immediately.

  • Documentation: Ensure all raw data generated are fully documented, recorded accurately, and validated.

  • Quality Assurance: Assess and document the impact of any deviations on the quality and integrity of the study.

  • Systems & Equipment: Verify that all computerized systems are validated and all laboratory equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose.

Research & Reporting

  • Protocol Development: Participate in writing study protocols and addressing reviewer comments.

  • Experiment Planning: Lead the logistical arrangements and conduct of study experiments.

  • Reporting: Assist in drafting final reports, ensuring data validity complies with GLP. Present oral and written reports to Project Partners and Test Facility Managers.

  • Archiving: Oversee the archiving of study plans, raw data, final reports, and supporting materials upon study completion or termination.


Required Qualifications & Experience

Category Requirements
Education

Essential: Medical Doctor (MD) or a relevant Science degree.


Preferred: MSc in Public Health with a proven track record.

Experience

• Conducting and supervising lab experiments in medical entomology.


• Advanced data analysis using Stata software.

Technical Skills Familiarity with OECD GLP principles and project supervision across diverse geographical settings.
Languages Fluency in English and Swahili (Written and Verbal).

Soft Skills

  • Adaptability: Proven ability to work in high-pressure, demanding environments.

  • Collaboration: A strong team player with the flexibility to handle evolving project needs.

  • Leadership: Ability to supervise multi-site projects effectively.
