Reservations Manager: Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
Location: Central Serengeti, Tanzania
Reporting To: Director of Sales & Marketing

About the Location
Located in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, this luxury lodge features 77 rooms (including 12 suites and 5 villas), three food and beverage venues, a Discovery Centre, and a full-service spa. It is a 45-minute drive from the Seronera Airstrip.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
1. Revenue & Yield Management
-
Direct reservation activities to achieve budgeted goals using occupancy and rate principles to maximize yield.

Perform revenue management functions based on business trends and technology.
-
Develop demand trend tables, occupancy/revenue forecasts, and monthly marketing diagnostic reports.

Coordinate with the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) to introduce yielding tactics and selling strategies.

Manage the Delphi Yield System and update the Property Management System (PMS) with rate restrictions.

Maintain rate parity and integrity across all distribution channels.
2. Departmental Operations

Manage daily operations, execute policies, and ensure work is delegated and completed.

Review arrival lists (one week and two days in advance) to ensure all reservations are secure.

Handle villa reservations and oversee special handling for VIPs and return guests.

Maintain accurate records of pick-ups, cancellations, no-shows, and reservation sources.

Oversee the Lodge’s CIS programs and up-selling schemes for both Reservations and Front Office.
3. Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Sales & Marketing to coordinate group bookings and cut-off dates.

Communicate major events or projects to the Worldwide Reservations Office (WRO) and sales staff.

Chair monthly Reservations Meetings and participate in bi-weekly “BOO” meetings.

Establish relationships with other Reservations Managers within the region and the Four Seasons network.
4. Team Leadership & Development
-
Interview, select, and mentor staff; conduct follow-up training and performance appraisals.

Create staff rotas and manage weekly timesheets to ensure adequate coverage.

Ensure all staff are trained to Four Seasons Core and Culture standards.

Foster a sales-oriented attitude and ensure staff are knowledgeable about lodge facilities and the local area.
Position Requirements
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
-
Experience: * Minimum of two years Reservations Managerial experience.

Previous Department Head experience in hotel/resort operations is preferred.

Proven experience in Yield and Revenue Management.

Technical Skills: * Prior experience with a PMS ( Opera preferred).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
-

Soft Skills: Fluent in English; ability to work under high pressure and maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Supervision: Will manage a team of up to 10 employees.
Additional Information

Occasional Travel: Required for regional meetings or training.
-
Flexibility: May be required to temporarily relocate to the Lodge or assist the Front Desk/PABX team during high-volume periods.
