Resource Mobilization Manager

Location: Zanzibar Island, Tanzania (with periodic travel to Arusha)

The Foundation for African Empowerment (FAE) is recruiting a Resource Mobilization Manager to lead fundraising efforts and develop strategies to secure financial resources for its programs.
This position is open to local professionals or foreigners with a valid resident permit.
Job Summary
- Position: Resource Mobilization Manager
- Location: Primarily based in Zanzibar Island, with periodic travel to the Head Office in Arusha, Tanzania
- Type: Volunteer Position
- Core Objective: To secure funding through government grants, private foundations, and corporate sponsorships in support of FAE initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Fundraising
- Develop and implement effective resource mobilization and fundraising strategies.
- Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities from multiple sources.
Donor Relations
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Proposal Development
- Prepare high-quality grant applications, proposals, and presentations to secure funding.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure timely donor reporting and compliance with donor requirements and commitments.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track fundraising activities and provide regular progress reports to management.
Collaboration
- Work closely with program teams to align fundraising initiatives with project needs.
Market Intelligence
- Stay updated on trends in resource mobilization, fundraising, and development financing to identify new opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Fundraising, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in resource mobilization or fundraising, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
Track Record
- Proven experience in proposal writing and securing donor funding.
Communication Skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
Organizational Skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
