Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Security Officer who is:

Creative and strategic in security management
Collaborative and able to work closely with colleagues
Passionate about innovation and creativity in security operations
A dedicated and self-driven security professional
Strong in communication and people management
Able to maintain professionalism and vigilance even under pressure

Key Responsibilities

The Security Officer will:

Enforce school security policies and procedures in collaboration with the Manager – IT, Security, and Special Projects
Assist administrators in preventing personal injury, property loss, and disruptions through patrols, surveillance, and crime prevention techniques
Develop and improve security procedures for the school
Supervise and participate in patrols across buildings, grounds, and parking areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access
Conduct random inspections during nights, weekends, and public holidays to ensure alertness of security personnel
Supervise third-party security firms and ensure contract compliance
Maintain visibility during arrival and departure of students and staff while ensuring proper security checks
Identify and professionally address conflicts or disruptive behavior
Document and report incidents within 24 hours of occurrence
Promote a culture of safety and security within the school community

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must have:

Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Security Management or Supervision
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
Registration as a Security Officer
A valid Police Clearance Certificate

Physical Requirements

Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Working Conditions

Rotational shifts including day, night, weekends, and public holidays
May require on-call emergency response
Ability to work across multiple campuses in Arusha

Additional Skills

Strong surveillance and observation skills
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of public safety and security operations
Understanding of relevant Tanzanian laws and regulations
Experience working in a school environment is an added advantage
